We come to your home and assess your bathroom layout, flooring, entry /exit, lighting, space and more.
We will observe you demonstrating what aspects of bathing you are finding difficult.
We take a thorough medical and personal history and discuss with you what works for you, what you find difficult and what your goals are.
Based on your assessment we will suggest equipment to help you meet your goals, or adaptations to your bathroom.
We will advise you on where to purchase equipment if self funding, or who to contact in your local authority if you require funding support.

We will provide you with a detailed specificiation and drawings to take to your chosen contractor prior to commencing any works.
We can also share these recommendations with your local housing authority and ask that they undertake the work.
You will recieve a written report with clear recommendations, cost estimates, suggested contractors if needed and guidance on what to do next.
If applicable, we can refer you to local authorities to apply for funding in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness & Dundee and surrounding areas.
After your assessment you will be informed of how to lower risk of falls, improve your confidence bathing and perhaps return to independence. Your family will have peace of mind that you are safe again.
We understand social work waiting lists can be lengthy, and a private assessment can allow you to then request adaptations through your housing association directly, without needing to wait on social work occupational therapy services. We do recommend you speak with you housing association to confirm they will accept a private assessment and report in the first instance.

How long does an assessment take?
Typically 60-90 minutes, depending on the size of the bathroom and how many challenges need exploring.
Do I need to prepare anything?
Just make sure the bathroom is usually accessible. If you have tools, photos or anything useful (e.g. measurements), great to have those handy.

Can you help with installation / contractors?
Yes, we can provide names or referrals. We also help you understand what adaptations might cost. If you require us to liaise with the contractors when architectural drawings are being carried out, this can be done for an additional fee.
